Local News 28th January

An 18-year-old Malaysian student in London was allegedly gang-raped by several Russian men, including an intelligence officer who has been charged with the offense.
According to the star online, The Sun tabloid of London (pic), which broke the story on Thursday, reported that the girl had attended a party at the prestigious Bellerbys College in Greenwich, South London, where she is studying. The report, quoting sources, claimed that the girl was allegedly drugged and then filmed while being assaulted by seven Russian men, including the intelligence officer identified as Oleg Vladimirvich Ivanov, 23.
First of all I'm deeply sorry to hear about this. I pray that she will recover soon.

A friend of mine did not come home during her semester break many years ago in England. She went to the library to study. A fellow student raped her in the toilet. I believe he was a Nepalese.Rape sometimes is initiated at the last moment. It is an opportunistic crime.
Girls should hang around close with fellow classmates preferably from home country who can look out for one another.Children and young adults today are highly educated. What they lacked big time is living skills. They tend to be gullible, naive, too trusting esp with foreigners. Quite a number of Malaysian girls mix around and fall in love with foreign men. They get pregnant and run away from home. Some foreign men leave them to fend for themselves. Sad.
As parents, academic education is important but living skills education is even more important. If I have a child, I will enrollment him or her for martial arts than some piano or dancing class. Today the world is in chaos. Being street smart is more useful than being classroom smart. May God and Law bring these educated rubbish of society to justice soon. God Bless!

Local News

These few months i've saw a lot of illegals selling babies news on webs or newspapers. But the current issue of the SinChew newspapers was baby for sale racket crippled. According to the news, police believe they have crippled an international baby trafficking syndicate after rescuing three babies and arresting nine people. One of the baby was aged five days and the other two who were seven days old. In my opinion i felt that selling babies are not 100% wrong, i do see it as a positive move to reduce, baby dumping, which sometimes, causes death, to innocent babies.
The Government, especially relevant ministries, must have contingency plans, and "experts", to devise other methods to curb such negative activities. Though, it is NOT easy to come up with fool proof plan, people with relevant experience, should be recruited to, formulate supporting plans, in other areas, like education, social welfare, and such. It is NOT enough, just to say how many babies you save in a day, but look a little further, so that such cases can be reduced.

As it is, with the former PM's wish that Malaysia, have 70 million population, "his wish is being acted out" to the detriment of the "Nation's Health". With all the perks given to the majority for having more children, i believe, that was one of the trigger points, of the "baby-making culture".

International news

According to Mark Zuckerberg from The Star, Facebook has become too hard manage and it will be shut down on March 15th 2010. Some people said it's not true and that it is a rumor that was created by someone unknown. Facebook.com just paid $85 million for it to be called facebook.com, so the question is: how can it be shut down so easily. This news is hoax news and no major news sites have presented such a claim. If Facebook had to shut down, some of the people who is dependant of the social network will feel really lifeless. A lot of people are on facebook hours of the day. So many people's lives are going to be "different" IF facebook has come to an end. In Facebook, there are too many things that can't be deleted without permission, such as the user's picture, videos, notes and etc.

Secondly, let's not forget facebook's mass share holders? Or their advertisers? The business world is quite dependent on facebook for commercial purpose and we all know how effective it is.

But then the question is, is this a rumor created just for the sake of 'fun'? Or are we going say good bye to dear old facebook?

Consumer of Information

I have different kinds of hobby, such as instruments, sports, music, watching movies and etc. But the most I do was watching TV, though I doubt if it can ever be a hobby. I like appreciating the finery in the hot TV series and enjoying the role of films. It seems exciting and interesting activity for me.
When I was a child, I felt that television is a magic for me. It got a miraculous effect full of colors, images and sounds. It’s so special everyday broadcast cartoons, movies, news and others. When I was a child my father told me that, at the 70s he used to run over to their neighbors’ house for watching TV. He watched the whole 1980’s world cup football in a small TV at theirs house and crowded with a bunch of people. It was very entertained visually than just providing fodder for the auditory verves via ABBA, ELVIS and to find out there would be programs from morning till night on Sundays.
In the 20th century, black and white television receiver had changed to color TV such as the typical modern plasma-screen television; a lot of commercials had broadcasting on it. Everyone was grabbing themselves a color TV to set it in their house or room. During my children days, my only agenda on Saturdays was watching the cartoon movie at 10am in the morning other than sleeping. My day went something like this, wake up at 10am run to get my breakfast and finish it in a minute then run to the living room and watch the cartoon series that are going to broadcast; are Mickey Mouse and their friends. I love it so much because it can entertain my weekends.
I can’t imagine a world without TV. Watching TV plays an important role in our daily lives. The TV was my only companion and was switched on throughout the day and night, introducing me to all the news and entertainment in industry. It brings us a lot of benefits and can increase our knowledge of the world, give us information to improve our lives and provide a lot of fun. Watching TV widens our horizons. There are numerous TV programs representing all the worldwide affairs. People learn many things through TV such as economics, history, geography, and culture. Many TV programs provide the latest news of domestic and international events. Watching news every night on TV is many people most important routine.
Watching TV is an indispensable hobby for everybody. Today, many children spend too much time before the little screen, ignoring their studies, outdoor activities and even their families. Watching TV has become part of our lives. TV, as a convenient communication tool, is very useful for us in many areas. Various programs fit everyone needs, like cooking and exercise to keep the body fit. Nearly every family owns a TV and watches TV programs. We should teach the kids to spend their time wisely with other hobbies and outdoor activities. Nothing is more entertaining and relaxing for me than watching TV after a whole day of study. These kinds of programs always help us do better in our daily living. There are many programs to teach us about such things as home decorating, home renovating and carpentry. It is not unusual to see the people and places totally different from your own anymore because people can see these things through TV.

My knowledge in Geography ;D
